Is it Live or ....

Look at this shit.... Damn is that a live shot or is that an in game screen. Either way that is a shot taken from the new Tony Hawk game. Called Tony Hawks Project 8. This will be the other game that i will be picking up on Nov. 8th along with the game i just blogged about below.

This is yes the 8th in the series and is as close to a "reinvention" of the series as you can get. Its still about skating and it still has Tony in it, but just about everything else is either new or looks damn new. Obviously the first thing that you see is that the graphics are WAAAY better than the last games. Everything in the game is very detailed... very detailed. The boards look spectacular and the clothes and skaters look pretty damn realistic.

What you can't see from the screen shot is the newest feature of the game, called "Nail-The-Trick". That is were if you are in the air doing a trick you can "click" both of the analog sticks and the game slows down and focuses on the skaters feet. Why... because each of the analog sticks control each foot independently. Meaning you can push one way on the left stick and get a Kickflip, or you can push one way on the right stick and do a Shove-It. It takes a little getting used to at first but once you get the hang of it, you will be pulling off seamless tricks that you never saw so good before.

Also you now can play some random mini games by throwing your skater after he bails (a-la Flatout) like bowling and going for distance. Not that its all that new or genius but it does up the replay value a little.

All in all i wouls say its at the least worth a rent and if you are a fan a good buy.

Your Death... is coming... Soon!

Ok so if you don't already know what that picture is above... then allow me to inform you of one of the most hyped and highly anticipated games of the year.

Gears Of War.

No that ain't a CG cut scene that's an ingame screen shot. Yeah it looks that damn good. If you have a 360 (and you should already know about this) and you have a Live Gold membership go and DL the new commercial for the game. Its fragging awesome.

This won't take the place of Halo but it for damn sure will make the next year wait for Halo 3 a little easier. Its not (according to Cliffy B) a "run and gun" game it is more "stop and pop" game. If you DO own a a 360 then you owe it to yourself to at least find the commercial or a video or something from the game and watch it. If you are a fan at all of the action/shooter games, you could probably just pick it up and be happy with it.

I will be purchasing the game and have it on Nov. 8th and will right my full review then. Until that day i would give the preview a 5...out of 5.

God Bless Nintendo

So everything that i have read on the new Nintendo Wii system is freaking awesome. Not only does the system itself look sweet, plays all my old GC games, has motion senseing tech build into it (that doesn't feel like an add-on, yes i am glaring at you Sony), but it will play most of the old Nintedo, Sega, Turbo Graphix, and Commadore 64 games.

This paired up with the fact that they still have 40 some days left till the launch date and they already have almost 9 million Wii's sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shipped to everywhere in the world so it won't be as bad a shortage as with some systems (again i am talking about you Sony). Oh yeah and the system comes with a controller (the Wiimote) and a nunchuk attachment and.. AND Wii Sports too. So again...

God Bless You Nintendo.
