Old School Brotherhood

Ok so I recently (back in Nov. actually) started playing Online more with my 360 Live account. I got COD4 and wanted to try it out. I did some searching online about the game and went to the Charlie Oscar Delta web site and looked thru their forums just to see what was going on. That was when I came across a post from a member of the Old School Gaming Organization. (old school for short) I had kinda wondered about "Clans" before and wanted to test the waters to see if it was something i wanted to dive into.
The post that OS Perry had left on there grabbed my attention from the begining. Not with Promises of gaming prowess or the chance to play and win tourneys all over the world or anything. He just was upfront and honest about his "Clan". They are a group of guys mostly adults 20+ that like to get together and play games for the fun of playing... Wait people still do that? I thought the only reason people got together online was for sensless bashing of someone's lifestyle or family... So I read on.
They like to compete but that is not all they are about. They take the "Clan" VERY seriously, so much so that you will learn right off the bat they don't even like the term "Clan" and prefer to be called a "Brotherhood". So after reading about the OS I decided to check out the website and learn as much as i could. I am very glad that I did.
I signed up on the website to be a Recruit for the OS. Basiclly that means that I will go online and try my best to play with these guys and let them get to know me to see if we fit together. We play different games (sports games, FPS, Board games, LIVE Arcade) and test out each other to make sure there is no clash of personalities or anything else.
You will find this hard to believe (I did at first), there are people playing games over the internet that are intelligent, and... AND they actually can talk in a lobby without using swear words everyother second. Amazing, I know. Trust me I was shocked.
I have played with them now for just over a month on a couple different games, and i have to say that i am very impressed and appreciative that they have givin me the chance to play. Talking in the lobby before a COD4 game you will get conversations that range from, Football Scores, to last nights Tiger game, to the news of the day, even down to what people ate for dinner. In otherwords REAL CONVERSATIONS!!!!
I am still in the Recruit/Probie phase, but i hope to some day become an Associate Member, and later on even a Full OS Member.
If any of you guys read this I just want to say again, Thank You. Seriously. Like i said in my inital post on the forum, i have missed being able to play with friends that just enjoy playing. Not only that but you have restored a small shred of my hope that the rest of the online world my have kind and decent people on it that actually like other people and know how to carry themselves.

Cup On Vacation

Everyone had a lovely vacation... even the cup.

Mountain Dew Game Fuel...

Halo 3 never tasted so Sweet.... Seriously i think i will be shitting out pure sugar cane logs later. This stuff tasted like cherry flavored pixie stickes that were poured into a bottle of water. It's not bad... but its not great either. I do think however that it will be a huge hit out there b/c the fan boys will buy anything with Master Chief on it.

Be sure to pick one up the next time you are in 7 11 and setting up your pre-order for Halo 3.

Ocean City Here We Come...

Just a quick little post. (three in one day damn)

We will be heading to Ocean City Md on Friday. I can't wait to be away from everything and not have to worry about anything for a week. It's going to be a blast.

Oh and the place we are staying is on the Assawoman bay... Great Name.

On the Not so happy side...

As of Aug. 8th we lost the house we were trying to buy. Couldn't sell the Townhouse in time. This really sucks! We had a lot of plans for that house and lost a lot of money on it to not be able to move in.
The market sucks right now if you want to sell a house. We have been on the market (post dumb bitch Michelle) for about 2 months and haven't had any more offers. Our realtor said that it's not just us, everyone is having a problem selling now. If that is true than we can only hope that the above house has as much trouble until we can get a contract.
We have started looking into other houses just incase we can't get that one. No use in getting our hopes up AGAIN to be dashed against the rocks of reality.
I will keep the blog posted on what is happening, sorry about the delay (I'm talking directly to you, one guy that reads this) i have been very busy with stress and worry for a while, but i will try to post more often.
Oh and during one of the showings of our townhouse, some BASTARD stole our digital camera! Now ain't that just a smack in the nuts.

Red Ring Of Death...

Yes you are seeing that right. I got he Red Ring Of Death on my 360. I will never forget July 23rd 2007. That was the day the music... er... the games died. It is a very sad sight, trust me it feels even worse than it looks. I called Xbox 360 support the next day and they sent over the "coffin" to send it in for repairs.
On the up side to this story, Microsoft extented the warrantee for all 360's to 3 years on July 5th so my repairs will be free of any charges including shipping.
Sent my 360 off on July 25th to McAllen Tx. It has since been recieved, looked at and... is on its way home. But wait... there's more. They didn't just repair my system, slap a band-aid on it and send it home. No sir. They gave me a whole new system. Yay!! I consider it a belated birthday present from ol' Bill Gates him self. Thanks Bill.
Should have my 360 back by Thursday Aug. 16th at the latest.

Shock and Awe...

So i consider myself a pretty big cKy fan. I have all the albums, most of the little eps, shirts, hats, stickers. Yeah I am a fan. However I never knew where the inspiration for the cover you see above came from until today.

Randomly surfing around I found the story of Budd Dwyer. The man that inspired this cover, because he killed himself on live TV by a gun shot to the head. I also found a link thru WiKi to the video of this event. Normally i would put the video on here so that everyone could check it out but not this one. It is very grafic and dusturbing. I have seen many things in my life. Thousand of random internet videos, as well as several animals killed either intentionally for sport or unintentionaly (car accidents..) but nothing compares to this. Its just amazing to me the mental state this man was in. To have the resolve to know that he not only was going to kill himself, but do it in front of potentionaly millions of people. He was oddly enough very calm and considerate of the others in the room. His last few words were "If this will offend anyone you will want to leave the room." then he warned reporters and others not to get close "this thing will hurt someone..." that was the last thing he would say before putting the barrell in his mouth and pulling the trigger.

If you are as morbidly curious about this as i was you can do the research and find the video on your own and watch it. I won't put it on this page b/c it is to grafic to put infront of people that aren't prepared to watch a man end his life so tragicly, and trust me when i say it is very disturbing. But I thought i needed to inform others of the story behind the cover.

Hey Fucko...

This post is for the Lady that just backed out of the contract that she put on our house over a month ago... FUCK YOU!!!
Thanks for fucking my day and my plans for the next several weeks. You're a piece of shit! If you didn't want to buy a townhouse, or any type of fucking house you shouldn't have started the process at all.
I am posting this in the hopes that one day you will find this post and see how much of a Douche Fag you are and how much I wish I could meet you and smack your dumb fucking face! I would love to be able to find you or talk to you on the phone, not so much to rain obscenities on your dumb fucking head (which you by the way deserve) I would like to just laugh. Laugh at you if you think for one second that you will be able to find a townhouse, in our area, with the square footage, for the price, that is an end unit, that has MORE THAN TWO PARKING SPACES!!! If you think that you can find that, you let me know b/c i would love to find the ghetto that you are moving into and come and see the 50 sqfoot house you will be living in, and piss on your couch, FUCK YO COUCH!!!
So one more time just so we are clear, FUCK YOU and the retarded donkey that you wobbled into town on.

Welcome Home....

You're looking at the new house. That's right we finally found one, and it was a steal of a deal really. The wife and i figure we must have looked at about 30 houses all around town before we got this one. There is quite a story to this house too, allow me to write about it where no one will ever read it.

So after we had been looking for a couple of weeks this house came on the market. My wife and I saw it and decided to take a look at the house, unfortunatly before we could even schedule a showing of the house it was snatched up by another couple. Oh well, we put it out of our minds. well about a month and a half went by and we still hadn't really found a house that we liked that we could either afford or keep on the market long enough for us to put an offer on. Then this house came back on the market b/c the buyers (who were moving into town) got re-routed to another city. Well we didn't wait this time and got a showing of it the next day after it was on the market.
The day of the showing we put in an offer and were able to secure the house as our own. (subject to a house inspection next week)
This house is in a really nice neighborhood not to far from where we live now. The houses in that subdivison are really nice. The last house that sold in the neighborhood sold for like 310K. Well this house had an asking price of well under that. When we put in our offer we gave them full asking price and asked for 5K back in closing cost, to which they accepted. SWEEEEET!!

The house has 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath with a 2 car garage. The back yard is simply HUGE considering it is in the burbs. There is plenty of room for horse-shoe pits and maybe in the distant future an in-ground pool.

Best part is when we move, the wife has already agreed that i get my one room (which just happens to be the biggest in the house. I can do what ever i want to with the room (with in reason). That means i will no longer have to suffer in the "mini" man room anymore. This house ushers in a new era of rooms for me. That's right now i will have the "MEGA" Man room a.k.a. Manville.

More pics and info later... Party to follow us moving in.

Harley + Mario Kart = Love?

This is a great video of Harley's being used (or not being used you'll see) with the Mario Kart theme to make a pretty cool short movie.

Still Hunting...

So the hunt continues for a house. We had a house lined up but they didn't want to take a contingency contract for us selling our house and... someone else bought it. Damnit!
I think we are up to about house number 20 on houses that we have looked at and gone thru. I can't say enough good things about our Real Estate Agent. It's a good thing he is a friend of mine i don't know if anyone else would put up with us. It's not even that we are that picky. We just can't seem to find anything that works for us that stays on the market long enough to buy, or even get to do a walkthru of.
On the up side we did have a couple come to our house and like it enough to put an offer on it. They naturally offered way under what we were asking, and that's not a good thing. We countered back with another offer but they said it was still too much. I guess they are just worried about spending the money on a house being that they are first time home buyers. But they have to consider that ours IS an end unit. That and it has hard wood floors thruout the downstairs, and a brand new deck in the back. Oh yeah and the fact that our price is still at least 5K less than any other house in the neighborhood. Oh well. So the waiting continues. This Sucks!
I just want to find a house to make my own. Paint, Pictures, new furniture, and MORE ROOM.
I'll keep the blog posted as time goes on and we see more and more houses.

That's one to grow on...

This one takes me back. I hope everyone has great memories of this show like i do. Damn Mr. Wizard could do anything. I would like to have seen a battle to the death between Mr. Wizard and Macgyver. Think of the things they would have come up with to battle each other.

Surfs Up

*sigh* I love the beach... if it wasn't for the volatile weather patterns i would totally live out the rest of my life at the beach. There is nothing better than being at the beach with friends relaxing and not having anything you HAVE to do.
I have been going to the beach every summer for pretty much my entire life. I am 28 (almost 29) and i think i maybe have missed a summer at the beach maybe twice in my life. I honestly can't say that i feel more relaxed anywhere else in the world than i do sitting on the porch of some beach house with a drink in my hand and the wind in my face, listening to the waves crash and the seagulls squawk.
For the past several years my friends and i have been going to the beach for at least a weekend every year. It's great! Good friends, great food, good times. I hope that we can go again this summer for my birthday like we did last year, and just spend the weekend at the house.
Maybe go for another night fishing adventure get boozed up, eat a lot of seafood like fuckin neanderthals, pile 6 or 7 people in my car and go to the local Brew Thru to bother the foreign girls for more beer and t-shirts. Good Times.... damn good times.

Wanna buy my house?

So my house is for sale now... what a pain. It's not so much that i have to sell the house to move, but more the fact that i have absolutley no clue if our realtor will need to show the house at any point and time. He could call and say "Yeah i got a couple that would like to see your house." and even if i am in my boxers watchin Aqua Teen and eating cheez-its i have to get up get dressed and leave my house. Now granted this has not happened yet (the house has only been on the market 2 days) but i know at some point it will, and probably when i don't want it to happen.
I really can't wait to get into my own House, and not a Town House. It's so strange i lived with my parents for 25+ years and most of that was in the country. At the time i hated the fact that i lived in out 20mins from everyone else, but now i wish i could get back there. Everytime i go to my parents house i absolutley hate it. Not that i don't love my parents and have a great time when i am there, but the quiteness of that house and land are amazing. They have a large plot of land and there aren't any major highways around them or traffic to speack of... and i love it. i walk in that house and i remember the smells and the feeling of being there on Saturdays and Sundays laying on the couch or in my bed watchin TV or Playing games or reading or not doing a damn thing and i miss that so much it sucks. So i guess what i am saying is i want to have my own place so i can start new memories of things like that.
And don't let anyone tell you that living in a townhouse is different from living in an apartment. It's not, the only difference is that you Own a townhouse not an apartment. You still have noisey neighbors, no parking, party limitations, and NO VIEW!
I can't wait to be sitting in my Mega Man Room and just chilling listening to the birds (not the neighbors).

Um... wait... What!?!?

So can anyone tell me why this "Crazy Frog" thing is still around. Who the FUCK is buying these songs they play commercials for on tv. I saw one a long time ago and thought it was a joke, seriously. I thought some one had snuck into my house laced my drink with LSD and then subjected me to some sort of mental test. I mean come on, who is watching tv at night and says to themselves, "Hey, you know i have only two friends but wouldn't it be great instead of making new friends or actually going out in public and being social with the general population. What if i were to call this thing on tv pay the $4.99 for this sweet ringtone that will not only annoy anyone within a 5 mile radius but also solidify my entrance into the hall of loser fuck-o's AND piss off the two friends that i have to the point that they stop being nice and just stop being my friends!" Sweet...
And why does this thing have an effen CD? As if the ringtones weren't bad enough. Why would anyone being of sound mind walk thru a store and knowingly pick this up and actually pay money for it. Then turn around get in their Dodge Dart, and put it in the cd... wait no dodge dart has a cd player in it... hold on.... ok. Then turn around and get in their 84 Mustang and pop this into the cd player and crank this shit up on the road. If i was in the car with someone that actually owned this cd and they were playing it, first i would make a point never to be seen with them again, then i would punch them in the face, then i would take the cd and break it up into small pieces and feed it to said un-friend.
Fuck the crazy frog... fuck him right in the ear.

Hey Scott....

FAAAAAAAT!!

Whitney was wrong...

Remember what Whitney said... "Crack is wack!"

Well if people high on crack were as funny as Tyrone, people would be disgusted AND laughing at cracky on the side of the road given a gummer for some rock instead of just being disgusted.

VT Tragedy...

Can't say that i ever attended classes there, but just about everyone that i know either went there or had someone close to them that did. Everyone was affected by this horrible act, most of us indirectly but the pain is still the same.

Today was the "Maroon Effect" day, and everyone was asked to wear something to honor those lost at Tech. Just driving around town today i saw A LOT of people out there that were either sporting orange or burgundy in some way. Either on their car or wearing some sort of ribbon or clothing. The one thing that i did notice is, I don't think people ( at least most) are doing this to get attention or to fit in. I know right after 911 you weren't "Patriotic" if you didn't have an American Flag on your car, but i think most people had no connection to the fact that hundreds of people died that day, they were just slapping a USA sticker on the car to be like the guy they parked next to at the mall. I don't feel that this is the same thing. There is something different about the support for tech. Maybe b/c its a college that was in my state, or maybe b/c half my friends either went there or had friends or family that did or still do. Something just feels different about all this to me. It's like people actually care... could that be? Somewhere deep down do the people of Va. actually have a caring bone in them.

I have ranted a lot ... A LOT, about people that live in this state. Maybe there is a glimmer of hope, if we can all pull together and get behind the families that were involved in this event, maybe there is hope for us all...

Yeah i'm getting kinda mushy about this but i just keep thinking that if it had happened like a couple of years ago i might have lost some of my very close friends. That to me is very scary. Anyway i thought i needed to say something about all this in my own words.

To all the families of all the victims involved, you truly are in our hearts and prayers. I hope that everyone out there will never forget this week, and remember everyone that was slain in the best of ways, b/c im sure that is the way they would want to be remembered.

New Feature!!!

There will now be a Clip of the week on my blog.
now that i have a new computer i can update this more often. So what better way to kick this off than with one of my Favorite Mr. Show Clips. I present to you Talkshow On A Life Raft.

Say What....?!?!?!?!

So i haven't talked about this in quite a while on here if at all. Why do people insist on just blabbing about the most random insane, stupid shit to people that don't need to know and most of the time don't care one bit what you have to say. Not to mention the things that people will say to you that is just flat out inappropriate for the situation and the setting. Allow me to explain: I had a guy come into my branch the other day and start up a conversation with me, just your usual small talk about the weather and dumb shit like that, that people spit out trying to pretend that they like you and care about your opinion. Well as the transaction was finished and our conversation reached an obvious end, the guy turns to me and says, and i quote, "Well I'm going to go home and pretend to have sex.". Now not only is this a totally inappropriate thing to say in a bank, to someone you barely know, that also is a man, but it left me almost (and i can't stress ALMOST enough) wanting to ask what he ment by that. Did he mean that he was going to go home and have sex with his wife and pretend that he was enjoying it? Did he mean that he was going to go home and masterbate and "pretend" that he was having sex instead. I have no way of knowing, and not really one of those things that you can ask someone about at a later date.

So be wary of any strange conversations that you may have in your life with random people that you may never see again. They may left you with a whole in the conversation that may haunt you (in many ways) for a long time to come.

If it wasn't for my horse...

Don't Sleep Thru This Movie...

I went and saw Smokin' Aces this Saturday, and boy was it a good movie. Now i say that knowing that some people really didn't like the movie at all, but fuck them, setting aside the fact that it is molded from Lock Stock, and Layer Cake, and has "Boston" Ben Aflac... i mean Afleck, but it is still a decent movie. It has a HUGE all (well mostly) star cast including, Common, Jeremy Piven, Ryan Reynolds, Alicia Keys, Jason Bateman, Ben Affleck, Ray Liota, Andy Garcia, That guy from Lost that i don't know his name, some woman from Passion's. Well its a lot of people. Anyway, the movie is a RollerCoaster thru the entire thing. If you don't figure it out in the first 30mins the movie has a pretty good twist ending ("What a twist!!") I enoyed it my wife enjoyed it, i would recommend that any fan of the movies like Lock Stock or Snatch or Layer Cake go see this movie. Just remember that this is quickly becoming its own genre of movie and should be seen as such.

Wii is to Games as TP is to the Toilet.

Despite that horrible attempt to make a joke and try to show how essential the Wii has become in my household, I don't recommend that you attempt to wipe your ass with a Wii, or your friends Wii.

Since i got my Wii the day after Christmas i have been playing it all the time, and searching for another Wiimote with the same vigor and desperation. I finally found another Wiimote saturday but now can't find a nunchuk. Ohwell now i can at least play most of the Wii sports with/against my wife and friends.

Also i started playing Zelda Twilight Princess. It is a very sweet game. It looks great and is a lot of fun to play. Though i don't really see that it HAS to be a Wii game. Almost if not all of the elements of the game could be played on a regular GC controller. I can't really see where you absolutley have to have a Wii to play the game. Don't get me wrong it is a lot of fun to play with the Wii Controller, but if you can't find a Wii and still want to play the game or if you have a Wii and for some reason can't find the Wii version, just pick it up for the GC, it really is just as good.

Anyway i guess what i am trying to say is that the Wii is super great and i couldn't be happier that i have one. Not to metion the fact that my wife loves Ravin Rabbids and can't wait for the Mario Party 8 or Wario Smooth Moves. It really is fun for everyone, no matter your age or preferance in games.
