More Wii Vs. PS3...

So there have been a lot of people bashing each side of the cosole war. I have never been one to sit on the fence about if Sony or Nintendo or MS will win. Personally i am rooting for MS and Nintendo, Sony in my book has adopted the thinking that "They will buy it from us b/c we are Sony and we brought you the PS1 and 2." well that sucks for everyone that wants to order or eventually go to a store and purchase a PS3.

Estimates are in that Sony missed the mark on even delivering the promised 400k (actually only shipping 200K that also falls short of the 1 million they said they would have ready at launch) to the 150 or so retailers around the US. Nintendo on the other hand shipped out its full 1million at launch to the US and they were subsiquently gobbled up (partially i sure by the mindless rabble of people that didn't get the PS3 they were promised) on launch day.

What's my point here... that Sony had the advantage (bigger company, more money backing the system, bigger system) but they blew the lead that they could have gained on Nintendo, not to mention the fact that they have a lot of catching up to do with Xbox360 (out for almost a year now). Nintendo used its resources well produced the product and still has demand for more shippments. Sony, has nothing but demand. Granted that most people are buying the system simply to make money on ebay from reselling the system for damn near $10K. Thus effectivley taking the system out of the hands of the gamers that want them and putting them in the hands of gamers that just want the status of owning one. Oh and by the way Sony is lossing about $250 per PS3 that they sell, not including the price of labor, cords, and packaging.

Way to go Nintendo i will be singing your praises until i get my Wii then i will just be playing games. Sony... you have disapointed myself and so many others. If i could i would slap a big Dunce cap on your head and stick you in the corner. For shame Sony... For shame.

Wii is SWEEEEET!!!!

Just a quick post. I got to play with a Wii last night. (shut up you know what i mean) And i have to say it was hella fun!! The Wiimote is a lot smaller than i expected it to be. It's about as long as a candy bar and a little thicker. I played "Excite-Truck" not the most flashy of games on the Wii but still fun never the less. The controls worked quite well. Just tilting the controller made the truck go left or right and it was pretty sensitive. I wanted to get a Wii anyway, but now i REALLY want to get one.

Not bad enough that i am willing to wait in line for hours and beat someone up for it. (PS3 Fanboys)

*Oh yeah and i don't want to get shot either.*

Triple Threat...

So yesterday was a BIG day for games. There were three big releases yesterday. They were:
Tony Hawks Project 8

Gears of War

Call of Duty 3

The Triple Threat... All of the games are very easy on the eyes and they all play very smoothly. I was most excited to get Gears of War, but after playing all three i have to say that the new Tony Hawk game is the most fun of the three. Not to say that Gears isn't any good, its a great game and i know i will be playing it for a long time (online and off) but something about the Project 8 just made me have more fun playing the game. Call of Duty is great aswell and looks spectacular (which is saying a lot considering what the last one looked like) and it is a VERY intense experience. All in all they were great purchases (not that i really payed that much for them thanks to trade ins) but well worth the effort to get them. I can't wait to have friends over to get a good multiplayer game going, not to mention playing online with all my new found Xbox Live friends (sorry to you guys in the UK that don't get these till the end of the month Slash and Bouk Bouk) anway i have much more work to do and a LOT of achievments to get. See you in the digital realm.
